ABOUT From her native Germany, Ronya moved to London in 1994 and it is there that she developed a love for urban photography and honed her skills in extracting the extraordinary from life around her.Her intimate images of urban life are often intruiging and emotive, incorporating a degree of ambiguity aimed to trigger thoughts and emotions in the viewer. "The wonderful thing about Street Photography is that every photo is a 'limited edition'. One shot is all you get: no rehersals, no re-takes. The street is your blank canvas and the props you're working with are the unpredictable movements of complete strangers and the wonderfully impulsive weirdness of daily life.For me nothing beats the feeling of being in the right place at the right time and capturing the briefest of all insights into someone else's world which stays with me in the form of a photograph long after our paths have crossed..."Ronya'a photographs have been displayed at the prestigious Pall Mall Gallery in London as well as having been chosen to feature in Magnum's 'Taste For Life' exhibition at London's Liberty's. In 2008 Ronya's work earned her a nomination in the 'Best Photographer' category of Sony's World Photography Awards and her work was featured in Saatchi's 'Most Commended Photographs' display in Cannes.
